Do you mean what you say?

“Your actions speak so loudly that I cannot hear what you are saying.”

--Ralph Waldo Emerson

I’ve never heard, so succinctly and viscerally, the delineation of what we say and what we do.  Sure, there are other sayings:

“Talk is cheap”

“All talk, no action”

“You talk the talk but can you walk the walk?”

But there’s something about Emerson’s quote that so swiftly and clearly points to the fact that our words can mean next to nothing if our actions oppose them.
