Don't explain the unexplainable

I touched down in Chicago this past week and almost immediately, a sense of ease and energy coursed through me.  I love Chicago fiercely and am almost overwhelmed with the pulse of this city and its vibe.

People ask me why I love it so much (when I don’t even live here) and I tell them things that probably aren’t earth shattering:  it’s a vibrant city, it has great architecture, a delicious foodie scene, I have great friends that live here that I love to visit…all these reasons are true, but there is something simply unexplainable about why I feel the way I do about this place.

But here’s the thing:  I don’t feel the need to explain.

There is something magical about having this feeling in this city and simply allowing it to draw me here.  Allowing it to direct where I go.  Allowing it to tempt me into new things, to new places, to new experiences.

It seems like we’ve moved toward being required, at every twist and turn, to explain, justify, and logic-to-death everything we do.  And yet there is so much energy, direction, surprise, whimsy, delight and discovery when we allow ourselves to follow those unexplainable feelings.

What are you being unexplainably called toward today?
