I work with clients all the time to make big changes, whether to their lives or businesses or workplace environments, and here’s a secret that surprises most:
The work is SIMPLE, it’s just not EASY.
Frankly, all the work I do generally comes down to a process that explores and takes action in these areas:
Define (What are we really talking about?)
Understand (What does that really mean and what do I want?)
Plan (How do I get from where I am to where I want to be?)
Execute (Let’s go make it happen!)
(It tickles me that the acronym spells DUPE! I’m easily amused.)
But here’s the thing that trips people up: just because something is SIMPLE (like this framework), it doesn’t mean it’s EASY. In fact, when I work with clients using the parts of this framework, we can go 17 rounds in Define alone. The process can be straightforward but the work of moving through that process can be deceptively difficult.
Just because it’s SIMPLE doesn’t mean it’s EASY. Don’t confuse the two.
