Well here we are, more than halfway through December and the end of the year is closing in fast. And even though we don’t need a new year to make changes or new choices, I love it as a time to reflect and make shifts.
With shorter days and more darkness that comes with quiet and stillness, I love this time to hunker in, cozy up, and consider the year that is coming to a close, and the new one that is about to sprout. As my last blog post for this year (I’ll be on holiday hiatus for the next two weeks), I’d love to share with you some of the questions I’ll use for reflection, in case they spark meaningful thoughts for you too:
In thinking about the past year…
What gave me energy?
What felt draining?
What did I learn that I want to carry forward into next year?
In thinking about the coming year…
What do I want my experience of the year to be?
Who do I want to spend time with?
What do I want to spend time or energy doing?
I wish for you the kind of closing to this year that honors what it was for you, and the focus and fortitude to create the coming year to be what you desire. Happy holidays and happy new year my dear readers; I am grateful for each of you.
